Who We Are

BSEA is a Strategy and Performance Management consulting and training firm that provides simple, practical performance improvement solutions that incorporate proven methodologies and software. Training and change management are an integral part of our solutions.

Our affiliation with Stacey Barr Pty Ltd (Australia), Polarity Partnerships (US) and QPR Software Plc. (Finland) gives us access to the best available consulting, training and technology resources; and as well gives us access to a global network that enhances best practice, learnings and sharing, as well as opportunities to deliver services across the continent.

Since our founding in 2008, we have worked for companies, government departments and not-for profit organizations of different sizes across Africa.

Our Purpose

We believe that each in an organization, at whatever level they are at, is a performance leader with the ability to change the way they do things to get better results. At BSEA we empower teams and individuals to generate possibilities, make decisions, take actions that create a better world and learn from their actions. Our training, coaching and facilitation service on performance measurement, strategy execution and polarity management builds the ability of individuals and teams to continuously challenge what they do, meaningfully measure progress towards desired outcomes, and report and improve performance.

We Work with Authenticity, Presence…

Everyday as consultants, we engage with individuals at all levels of the organization who are open to learn and engage differently in order to improve performance. This sometimes means learning to question and change ones underlying values and assumptions.  At BSEA, we are cognizant of the difficulty and vulnerability that comes with new learning and experimenting.  For this reason, our role and duty is to engage authentically with our clients, making sure we act in their goodness in mind, believing in them and their ability of make things happen: We work with presence as we help leaders and managers to support employees as they seek to detect gaps in their performance, identify possible interventions and work towards bridging those gaps.

Peter Ndaa

Founder and Chief Executive Officer

Peter is a Strategy and Performance Measurement Expert and is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of BSEA.  Since founding the company in 2008, Peter has grown BSEA to provide strategic, simple and practical guidance and assistance to leading corporates, not-for-profit institutions and government owned entities in strategy formulation and implementation, organizational transformation, financial process design and improvement, financial management, performance and change management and automation.

Throughout his 25 years of experience, Peter has worked with organizations where he has successfully led the development and implementation of integrated, automated strategic and performance management systems. As a Balanced Scorecard Master Professional (BSMP) and a Certified and licensed and PuMP® Consultant with Stacey Barr Plc. (Australia), Peter has consulted for several organizations in the region and trained and certified over 400 Balanced Scorecard Professionals at both Certificate and Master professional level and PuMP® Blueprint across Africa.

Peter’s experience spans multiple industries in the region including financial services, manufacturing, telecommunications, agriculture, ports and utilities. A selected portfolio of clients served include Commercial Bank of Africa, Bank of Tanzania, Bank of Uganda, Central Bank of Nigeria, National Bank of Commerce (Tanzania), Uganda Finance Trust, Uganda Development Bank Ltd, East Africa Portland Cement Company, Uganda Communications Commission, National Cereals and Produce Board, Magana Flowers Kenya Limited, Kenya Ports Authority, Ghana Grid Company, Tana Athi Water Services Board (TAWSB), KENGEN, ZESCO and TANESCO.

Peter holds an MBA degree from Ashridge Business School, UK and completed an Advanced Management Program at IESE Business School. He is a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK) and the Institute of Certified Public Secretaries (ICPSK).

Prior to starting BSEA, Peter worked as the Director of Strategy & Finance at Strathmore Business School (SBS). He also served as the Finance Director for Tiomin Kenya.  Peter also worked as the Business Development Director at Oserian Development Company in Naivasha. He started his career as a Chief Accountant at Wellcome Kenya Limited.

Change Leadership

Years of training, certifying and consulting in change leadership, balanced scorecards, performance measurement and communication have me taught me that we only become true change leaders when we acquire the wisdom and courage to hold judgement lightly to allow ourselves to truly see our reality in light of the reality of others, and to have the ability to leverage the tension/energy between.

It is this wisdom that separates history’s greats like Nelson Mandela of Forgiveness and Reconciliation, Mahatma Gandhi of Peace
and Nonviolence and of course the most eminent Jesus of Nazareth who lived as Man and God, from the rest of us. These men were naturally gifted in polarity thinking. They could see the dilemmas in their lives had 2-right and interdependent answers and were unsolvable.

The majority of us struggle. We approach problems and dilemmas using the traditional one-right answer or EITHER/OR problem-solving thinking that we have mastered all our lives – in school, at home and work. This way of thinking is not enough when we are faced with dilemmas/polarities. Another necessary paradigm around leveraging polarities through BOTH/AND thinking (polarity management) is required to complement the problem solving way of thinking.

I support leaders, individuals, teams and organisations to learn how to see and leverage polarities or ‘wicked problems’ as they introduce change (big or small) in their environments using Polarity Management PACT™ concepts, practices and tools.
